» Three Step Registration Process
  • Step 1: Read this entire page because it contains important information.

  • Step 2: Read and acknowledge acceptance of the Terms of Service.

  • Step 3: Fill out the Registration Form and wait for the email confirmation.

» General Registration Information
  • Registration is not required to read posts on the IBD Parents Message Board, but it is a requirement prior to posting new messages or replies. Even if you previously registered for the IBD Support Community, you still need to register here to be able to post on the IBD Parents Message Board.

  • Please consider printing this page for future reference. If you have any remaining questions, or experience any difficulties with the registration process, please feel free to send us an email with your question or the specific nature (including content of error messages, when applicable) of your difficulty.

» Filling Out the Registration Form
  • YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS: Make sure that you use a valid email address when you register, and double check that you typed it correctly. An invalid or mistyped email address will prevent the registration and activation process from being successfully completed.

  • CHOOSE USERNAME: The name that you register with will be your login name and will appear as-is on the message board and in your public profile. Please do not register with your full legal name if you don't want your full legal name to appear publicly.

  • CHOOSE PASSWORD: Select a password that is easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess. Please note that passwords are case sensitive and, therefore, however you type it upon registration is exactly how it must be typed to login later.

  • SECURITY IMAGE/SECURITY WORD: We have included human input validation, in order to prevent spammers from filling out endless numbers of fake registrations. Simply type the word you see in the Security Image into the Security Word box. (ADA access is provided)

  • SUBMIT! BUTTON: Press the Submit! button only once. Once you have successfully submitted a registration you will be redirected back to the message board. Watch your email for the automatically generated acknowledgement that your form has been received. Once your registration has been received your account will be activated manually, usually within 72 hours. When your account has been activated you will receive an email notification, which will include your registration information as well as the link to login for posting. Please be sure to print and/or save the activation email for future reference.

» After Registration Tips & Pointers
  • LOGIN TO POST: Once you registration is activated you must login prior to posting. The link to login will be provided to you in the activation email, and is also available on the message board main page. If you have any problems with login, please double check to be sure you have used the correct username and password (including capitalization, if applicable). If you are sure you have used the correct username and password, and the problem persists, please send email the specifc nature of your difficulty (including error messages, if applicable) so we can troubleshoot the problem for you. After a successful login, your browser will maintain your login information for all subsequent posts during that session.

  • MODIFY REGISTRATION: Clicking on "Modify your registration" on the screen directly following the Login screen will allow you to change your own profile information.

  • EDIT POSTS FEATURE: Members have the option of editing their own posts for up to one hour after posting. If you wish to edit your post: Simply click on your own name - next to the post you want to edit - on the main board message list, make the changes, and submit your changes. For posts more than an hour old, clicking on your own name on the main board message list will give you an error message stating that the post may no longer be edited.

  • VIEW PROFILES/SEND EMAIL: Clicking on someone else's name on the main board message list will allow you to view their profile information. From within profiles - as well as within their posts - you may click on another member's name in order to send email to them privately.
